My Stimulus Check Went to a 3rd Party Bank

By Law, tax preparers are not allowed to touch taxpayer refund money. Therefore, refunds are processed by a 3rd party Bank when the tax prep fees are taken out through a method called REFUND TRANSFER.

The refund is sent to the bank, the bank takes out the tax prep fees, and then transfers the remaining balance to the taxpayer through the method they chose [direct deposit, printed check, or Walmart Card].

This was explained to you when you signed the REFUND OPTIONS SHEET.

If you didn't choose Direct Deposit, your payments will be sent to you in check form. Tax Star Mobile, LLC uses TPG as our 3rd Party Bank.
